Getting from the airport
I would generally recommend to use taxi or to book our transfer to get to the apartment with all possible options explained below.
You will arrive at either Kyiv Boryspil International Airport (KBP) - a larger airport outside the city, or Kyiv International Airport Zhuliany (IEV) - a smaller airport located next to the city centre.
Transfer
You can book a transfer with our driver, who will meet you with your name badge, take you to the apartment and help to check-in. It costs $35 from Kyiv Boryspil International Airport (KBP) and $20 from Zhulyany Airport, payable to the driver.
If you would like to book the transfer, please let me know your fight number
Taxi from Boryspil Airport (KBP)
A taxi via Uber would cost you $15-$25, depending on the time of the day and traffic. Allow yourself at least 40 minutes and up to 1 hour 10 minutes to arrive to the city centre. You may also want to try Uklon as a Ukrainian (and slightly cheaper) version of Uber.
If you use taxi or public transport, make sure to exchange money first as only Ukrainian hrynvias are accepted. Be aware that the rate at the airport is at least 15% worse than the market rate.
Taxi form Zhuliany Airport (IEV)
A taxi via Uber would cost you $8-$10 and will take between 20-45 minutes.
Public transport
There is a SkyBus running from KBP to central railway station every 15-20 minutes at a cost of around $4. You can find the SkyBus stops at the exits from terminals B, D and F. You would need to get off at the final stop (Pivdennyi Railway Station) and it will take you about 1 hour.
An express train runs normally every hour from KBP to the same railway station 'Pivdennyi' at a cost of $3.20 and covers the distance in 40 minutes.
I can't really recommend any worthwhile public transport option from IEV airport.
In general, public transport might be not the best choice to start your acquaintance with Kyiv. However, I would recommend to see Kyiv Metro (underground tube) once you settle in the city.
